Palms Off Gaming Mag Lock Card Case 180pt
A$4.95 — Pre-order
The 180pt Mag Lock is the deepest case in the range. It is meant for booklet cards, heavily layered memorabilia and premium cards on very thick board, the cards no other one-touch will close around. If you collect high-end sports products, this is the case for the box-hit that comes out of the pack noticeably heavier than everything else, and it keeps that card visible from both sides.
Why collectors pick this one
- 180pt: the deepest Mag Lock case
- For booklet and heavy memorabilia cards
- Magnetic closure, opens by hand
- Clear acrylic on both faces
- Use only for cards that will not fit 130pt
Choosing the right one
Same rule as top loaders: the point rating is the card's **thickness**. 35pt covers almost all modern standard cards; thick stock, patch and relic cards need 55pt and up. A case that is too large lets the card rattle, which defeats the point.
About the Mag Lock Card Case 180pt
Large cards carry more weight, and weight is what makes a card move inside a case that is loose or bow in one that is tight. At 180pt the recess is deep enough for the thickest common memorabilia formats, with the magnetic lid sitting flush once the card is in place.
Use it for booklets, oversized relic cards and memorabilia cards that will not fit in 130pt. Do not use it for thinner cards just because one is spare: a 35pt card in a 180pt case will slide around freely, which defeats the purpose. Most collections will only need one or two at this size.
Open the halves along the magnetic join, set the card into the recess face up and close the lid gently so it seats evenly. Because both faces are clear, a 180pt case works well on a stand where the back of a booklet card can be seen as well as the front. Wipe the faces with a microfibre cloth before photographing the card for a sale listing.

Common questions
Are these UV protective?
Check the individual product page — UV rating varies by case. Regardless of rating, no acrylic case makes a card safe in direct sunlight; keep displayed cards out of it.
Can I put a graded card in one?
No. Graded cards come in their own sealed slab, which is far thicker than any of these. A graded card case is the right product for a slab.
Will the magnets damage the card?
No. The magnets are at the edge of the case, holding the two acrylic halves together — they are not in contact with the card and exert no pressure on it.
