Trust & Safety

Secure payments, verified members and buyer protection on every order — here’s exactly how we keep your money and your trades safe.

Secure payments

Every purchase on CardPop is processed by Stripe, a globally certified PCI-DSS Level 1 payment provider. Card details are entered inside Stripe’s encrypted, hosted checkout — they never touch or pass through CardPop’s servers. At checkout you can pay with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Buyer protection

Every marketplace order is covered by CardPop Buyer Protection. If the card is significantly not as described, arrives damaged, is counterfeit, or never arrives, report it within 7 days of delivery and, once approved, you’re refunded in full — the card’s price, postage and every fee — to your original payment method. A marketplace sale is binding when the card is as advertised, so there are no change-of-mind returns on cards bought from other collectors.

Sellers are expected to post within 7 days. If your order hasn’t been marked as posted by then you can report it as not received, and if a tracked parcel goes missing the seller — not you — carries the loss. No claim can be opened more than 45 days after purchase.

Seller protection

Sellers are protected against fraudulent chargebacks and false claims. Ship to the buyer’s checkout address with tracking (signature on delivery for high-value cards), mark the order posted with the tracking number, and you’re covered — a would-be scammer can’t claim “item not received” against a tracked, delivered parcel. A sale is binding, so a buyer can’t return a card that matches its listing because they changed their mind.

Verified identity

Real people stand behind every account. Before anyone can sell, they verify their identity through Stripe Identity: a photograph of a government-issued ID and a matching selfie. Buyers need a free account for any marketplace card and complete the same one-time check for larger orders. Stripe performs the check and confirms the match — CardPop never stores your document images.

Community guidelines

We have a zero-tolerance policy for fraud, harassment and market manipulation. Violators are permanently banned from the platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my card information safe on CardPop?

Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider. Card details are entered inside Stripe’s encrypted checkout and are never stored on or transmitted through CardPop’s servers.

What payment methods can I use?

At checkout you can pay with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

What happens if my card never arrives or is not as described?

You’re covered by CardPop Buyer Protection. Report it from My Account → Orders within 7 days of delivery (or after 7 days if the seller never posts it). If the card is significantly not as described, damaged, counterfeit or missing, you’re refunded in full — the card, postage and every fee — to your original payment method.

Can I return a marketplace card if I change my mind?

No. A marketplace sale is binding once the card is as advertised — you’re buying from another collector, not a shop. Change-of-mind returns apply to new CardPop Shop products only.

When do I have to verify my ID?

To sell, always. To buy a marketplace card, you need a free account; a one-time Stripe Identity check (government ID plus a matching selfie) is asked for on larger marketplace orders. Stripe performs the check and CardPop never stores your document images.

How are sellers protected?

As long as you ship to the buyer’s checkout address with tracking (and signature on delivery for high-value cards) and mark the order posted, you’re protected against fraudulent chargebacks and false “item not received” claims.
