A transparent overlay tool for checking a card's centring before you send it for grading. Ideal for newer submitters screening their best pulls.

Lay the clear overlay on the card, line up the guides with the borders, and compare left to right and top to bottom. As a reference point, PSA's standard for a Gem Mint 10 is centring of about 55/45 or better on the front and 75/25 on the back. If a card is clearly off-centre, it is unlikely to reach the top grade no matter how sharp its corners are, which can save you a grading fee. Check both the front and back, since the back allowance is looser.

Pick this overlay tool over the digital centring gauge if you want something quick and simple for sorting a stack of pack-fresh cards into "submit" and "keep" piles. It needs no setup and suits occasional submitters. The digital gauge is the better fit if you grade often or sell pre-graded cards and want measured readings. Use anti-static or microfibre cloths to remove dust before you check, and handle raw cards with gloves to avoid prints.
